Accessibility
Last updated: 13 October 2026. The German version of this page is authoritative.
This information covers the website whzoa.stefan-steinert.de including the merch shop. It follows the requirements of the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG, Annex 3), which implements the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882). WHZOA is a private, non-commercial demo project and no real goods are sold. We provide this information anyway, because the site should be usable for everyone.
1. What the website offers
The website informs about the (fictional) Weihenzell Open Air festival: line-up and programme, stages, travel, the Festival ABC, awareness, inclusion, cashless payment, news and the festival app. The merch shop lets you browse products by category, add them to a basket and place an order. Tickets are sold through a separate ticket shop, which is not covered by this page.
2. How the service is provided
The website is used in a web browser on computers, tablets and smartphones and is available in German and English. All information can be read without an account. Shop orders are placed via online forms.
3. How we meet the accessibility requirements
We aim for conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, which the harmonised European standard EN 301 549 refers to. In particular:
- Every page has a clear heading structure with one main heading.
- Skip links lead directly to the navigation, the main content and the footer.
- All functions can be operated with the keyboard; the keyboard focus is clearly visible.
- Text meets a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1, form fields and focus indicators at least 3:1.
- Links in running text are underlined and do not rely on colour alone.
- Images have text alternatives.
- The slideshow on the home page can be paused and does not move automatically if your device is set to reduce motion. Other animations are switched off in that case as well.
- The layout adapts to screen size and text zoom.
4. Status of compliance
The website is partially compliant with the requirements. The following content is not yet fully accessible:
- Posts in the Instagram feed are loaded from Instagram and do not have meaningful text alternatives.
- The order process in the merch shop has not yet been fully tested with keyboard and screen reader.
- The demo notice on the home page is only available in English.
- There is no content in Easy Read (Leichte Sprache) or sign language yet.
- External services such as Discord or the ticket shop are outside our control.
We are working on these points. For accessibility on the festival grounds see Inclusion & accessibility.
